Taiwo Akinlami, a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria is a social empowerment advocate and social entrepreneur, who has in the last 21 (twenty-one) years initiated and dedicated his tangible and intangible resources to many community service-based projects.
Akinlami sees the law as an instrument of social engineering and a virile platform to pursue public interest. He believes that the law rules all areas of human endeavours and therefore must be removed from the hidden shelves of law chambers, the corners of the judges’ offices and the exclusive comfort zone of the Ministries of justice and placed in the hands of the ordinary man at little or no cost. It is his firm faith that the democratization of our legal system through legal enlightenment of the generality of the Nigerian people is an indispensable tool for our social, political and economic development.
Akinlami insists that legal practitioners, being ministers in the temple of justice must approach equity with clean hands and therefore must abhor and campaign against all forms of sharp practices within and outside the profession.
